On November 25-27, 2023, the President of the University of Zakho, Prof. Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, participated in the International Association of Universities (IAU) 2023 Conference in Qatar at Qatar University under the theme "Higher Education with Impact: The Importance of Intercultural Learning and Dialogue."

The IAU 2023 Intercultural Conference examined how universities around the globe support and foster intercultural learning and dialogue, the impact geopolitics is having on this goal, and the wider implications it has for our societies through engaging sessions featuring over 300 university academic members, university leaders,  and speakers.

Nevertheless, the conference sessions concentrated on the university setting, raising the standards of knowledge and skills, and paying attention to human rights, democracy, and the rule of law and peace to increase the university students' familiarity with globalization.
